The US Department of Commerce has imposed export restrictions on 28 companies from Russia, Armenia, Spain, China, Turkey and other countries. This is stated in the notice on the website of the US federal registry.
Among Russian companies, Art Logistics LLC, ETC Electronics, GFK Logistics LLC, Novastream Limited, OOO Vest-Ost, Promelektronika, SKS Elektron Broker LLC, TD Promelektronika LLC, Trust Logistics and Trust Logistics Group LLC “for trying to evade export controls and/or purchase goods of American origin for a Russian military and/or defense industrial base.”
In addition, companies from Spain, Syria, Malta, and the UAE were included in the sanctions list due to “sending Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles, specialists and related equipment from Iran to Russia.”
The Wall Street Journal previously wrote about the alleged dispatch of an Iranian delegation to Russia to assess the possibility of building a plant capable of producing drones.
Russian and Iranian authorities have repeatedly denied reports of alleged deliveries of Iranian-made drones to Russia for use in the course of a special operation. In August 2022, The Washington Post wrote about this. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publication, called it “information stuffing.”
On October 17, 2022, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry accused Iran of supplying weapons to Russia, including drones that are allegedly used during a special operation in Ukraine. In response, Peskov said that during the NMD, Russia uses only Russian equipment, which has a Russian name.
