US congressmen are preparing a bipartisan appeal to President Joe Biden calling for Russia’s exclusion from the UN Security Council, Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick said.
According to the congressman, this will be a bipartisan address by the co-chairs of the Ukrainian support group in Congress, which will call for Russia to be permanently excluded from the Security Council and from the UN in general.
Fitzpatrick called the current situation “a disgrace to the organization”.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, commenting on the idea of Russia’s possible exclusion from the UN Security Council, said that there was simply no mechanism for depriving a member of the UN Security Council.
