Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko in her Telegram channel called on the governors of Russian regions to control the mobilization “seven days a week” and not make mistakes.

According to her, the heads of regions are required to fully comply with all the criteria for mobilization in full accordance with the announced requirements. According to her, the governors should take this message as a personal appeal.

“If necessary, be in constant contact with the military commissars around the clock, seven days a week, in direct contact with regional ombudsmen and members of the public,” she wrote.

On September 21, Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization in the country. As Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said, a total of 300,000 reservists will be called up. According to him, this is about 1% of the country’s total mobilization resource. Later, Putin signed a law amending the Russian Criminal Code, providing for imprisonment for up to 10 years for “with grave consequences” refusal to participate in military or hostilities during martial law or in armed conflict.
