WP: The United States will not give Russia frozen assets to Ukraine without the consent of the EU countries
Columnist Washington Post Josh Rogin reported that the authorities of the United States of America will not be able to implement a scheme to use frozen Russian assets to help Kyiv without the consent of European countries.
He clarified that at the moment some European countries, including Germany, doubt the advisability of such actions.
“Only about 2% of these funds are held in the United States. Most of the frozen Russian assets are located in Switzerland and Belgium. At the same time, in Europe, in particular in Berlin, there is resistance over whether this step is justified or not,” Rogin noted
According to him, at the moment there is no consensus among European countries regarding this issue. He insisted that such a step by the Badien administration would not work without European support.
