The US Ambassador refused to come to the State Duma for clarifications about biolaboratories

The United States Embassy in Moscow declined an invitation to US Ambassador Lynn Tracy to attend a meeting of the State Duma Commission Investigating Foreign Interference in Russia’s Internal Affairs on April 18 to clarify the activities of US biological laboratories in Ukraine. “The US Embassy in Moscow confirms that we have declined an invitation from the State Duma addressed to Ambassador Tracy to attend a meeting of the State Duma Commission of the Russian Federation,” the US diplomatic mission said.

According to the embassy, ​​the United States “fully complies with its obligations under the Biological Weapons Convention, does not develop or possess such weapons anywhere,” and Washington has already “completely debunked” the accusations against it.

“We consider this consultation process with Russia completed and closed. There is nothing more to add or discuss on this issue,” the diplomatic mission said.

Also on April 13, Vasily Piskarev, head of the State Duma commission to investigate the facts of interference of foreign states in the internal affairs of Russia wrote on her Telegram channel, who asked the Russian Foreign Ministry to arrange a meeting with Tracy “within the walls of the State Duma”, she was expected at a meeting of the commission of the lower house of parliament on April 18. “We want to hear explanations in connection with the absence of US Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland. Earlier, we invited Ms. Nuland in connection with the investigation of the activities of American biological laboratories in Ukraine, but she avoided communication,” Piskarev explained.

April 12, the Federation Council unanimously approved report of the parliamentary commission “to investigate the circumstances related to the creation by American specialists of biological laboratories on the territory of Ukraine.” He was supported by all 166 senators present at the session. The report is more than 200 pages long and its main conclusion is that “the United States supports and develops the ability to create biological weapons components and, if necessary, produce and use them outside the national territory,” said Konstantin Kosachev, co-chairman of the commission, deputy chairman of the Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev. According to him, “the biological development of the territory of Ukraine began in 1993, when, on the basis of the so-called initiative [американских] senators [Сэмьюэла] Nanna and [Ричарда] Lugar organized a systematic penetration of American specialists, including biosafety facilities on the territory of the former Soviet Union.
