The UOC denied the reports of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine about the transfer of buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra to the state
The message of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine about the alleged transfer of the buildings of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra to the jurisdiction of the state was refuted on Tuesday in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), calling them untrue.
The information and educational department of the UOC stated that they mean the buildings that were checked by the commission of the Ministry of Culture.
The UOC stated that the agreement concluded in 2013 between the monastery and the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra reserve on the use of religious buildings and structures is still in effect.
As for the unilateral refusal of the reserve from the contract, this dispute has not yet been resolved by the Economic Court of Kyiv.
In the meantime, a decision on the case has not been made, the monastery continues to use the premises and perform services, the UOC noted.
