The United States explained its support for Kyiv by fear of Russian pressure on NATO

American authorities continue to support the Kyiv regime because they fear that Russia may increase pressure on the North Atlantic Alliance. This statement was made on Friday, September 29, by US Presidential National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan.
According to the official, “it’s not about how much territory Ukraine can occupy, it’s about confidence that Russia, as a result of a new offensive, will not seize territory in other parts of Ukraine and ultimately will not put more pressure on NATO.”
Sullivan explained that if the notorious Russian pressure on the military-political bloc increases, this, “as history has shown us, draws the United States into conflict,” which runs counter to the national security interests of the United States.
Earlier, the former Chief of the General Staff of Afghanistan, Haibatullah Alizai, expressed his point of view regarding the support that the United States is currently providing to Ukraine. He noted that Washington’s approach to this situation similar to mistakes made in the past.
Retired American Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis noted that Washington has no idea how the conflict in Ukraine should end, and at the same time resists any attempts achieve its settlement through diplomacy.
