Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the start of autumn conscription into the army on October 1. Document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
According to the text of the decree, conscription will last from October 1 to December 31, 2023. Russian citizens aged 18 to 27 will be called up to serve as part of this campaign. According to the document, it is planned to draft about 130,000 people.
In addition, the president ordered, from October 1, to transfer into the reserve those military personnel whose conscription period has expired.
Previously, Deputy Chief of the Main Organizational and Mobilization Directorate of the General Staff, Rear Admiral Vladimir Tsimlyansky reportedthat conscripts will begin to be sent to military units on October 16. He emphasized that all conscripts will undergo military service on the territory of Russia; they will not be sent to the deployment points of the Russian Armed Forces in new regions or in the combat zone of a special operation. At the end of their service, all conscripts will be discharged and will be able to return home.
Starting October 17, a hotline will also operate, through which specialists will answer questions related to the draft on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 to 12:00 Moscow time.
