The United States did not issue visas to Russian diplomats who were supposed to participate in the session of the UN open-ended working group on cybersecurity, said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Irina Tyazhlova, transmits TASS.

“The United States has once again groundlessly, in a defiant manner, refused to issue visas to individual members of the Russian interdepartmental delegation … This is a gross violation by Washington of its obligations to host and ensure the work of UN headquarters,” she said.

The diplomat drew attention to the fact that earlier the United States acted in a similar way in relation to the head of the Russian delegation, as well as representatives of delegations of other countries, which undermines the key principle for the UN of the sovereign equality of states. Russia called on the UN secretariat to take action in connection with the non-issuance of visas to Russian delegates, Tyazhlova added.

Earlier in February, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov declaredthat the West is strengthening the information blockade of Russia. According to him, the United States and Great Britain continue bloc discipline within the collective West, as a result of which those who wish to maintain ties with Russia, including through the parliamentary line, find themselves in a difficult situation.

Russia, meanwhile, Russia is reviewing its obligations in international organizations, which are infringing on the interests of the country, he added.
