The United States called its red line for the supply of weapons to Russia by China

If China starts supplying arms to Russia for use in Ukraine, it will be a “red line” for the United States, US Permanent Representative to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield said in an interview with CNN. The text was published on the mission website.

“We must clearly understand that if there is any thought and effort on the part of the Chinese and others to support the Russians, then this is unacceptable. Again, this will be a red line,” the permanent representative emphasized.

Asked by a reporter what the implications for China would be, Thomas-Greenfield replied that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had previously “been clear on this.” “We are not going to announce what we plan to do. But we have made it clear to the Chinese that if they make this unfortunate decision, there will be consequences,” the permanent representative emphasized.

Previously, Blinken in an interview with NBC on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference toldthat the United States is concerned about possible plans by China to support Russia with the supply of lethal weapons for use in Ukraine. The Secretary of State also said that the United States has evidence that Chinese companies provide non-lethal support to the Russian army and added that such supplies could be “a whole range of things, from ammunition to weapons themselves.”
