The United States announced the exercises of strategic nuclear forces

US Strategic Command will conduct its annual nuclear readiness exercise Global Thunder 23 this week. reported on the website of the department.

“The goal of GT23 is to increase nuclear readiness and provide a safe, credible strategic deterrent force,” the statement said.

The exercises, which will begin on April 11, are not a response to “the actions of any states,” they noted. Washington’s key allies will take part in the exercises, and the number of bomber flights will be increased during them.

In October last year, Russia spent training of Russian strategic nuclear forces to deliver a massive retaliatory strike in response to an enemy attack. During the training, the RS-24 Yars intercontinental ballistic missile was launched from the Strategic Missile Forces training ground in Plesetsk and the R-29RMU2 Sineva submarine ballistic missile was launched from the Barents Sea. Their goal was the Kura test site in Kamchatka. Launches of air-launched cruise missiles were also carried out by Tu-95MS long-range bombers.

The head of state noted that Moscow is not transferring nuclear weapons to Minsk, but is doing what the United States has been doing for many years – deploying tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of allies and training their pilots in handling them.

The Kremlin has linked the deployment of nuclear weapons with the expansion of NATO towards the Russian borders. On April 4, Finland joined the alliance.
