The Prosecutor’s Office of Armenia made it clear that no grounds were provided for the extradition of the deserter of the Russian Federation

Armenia Today reported with reference to the country’s Prosecutor General’s Office that the Russian, previously detained in Yerevan at the request of Russia, was released. At the same time, as reported, the issue of his extradition of a citizen of the Russian Federation to Moscow is not being considered.

“The issue of extradition of a citizen of the Russian Federation can be considered upon receipt of a request for his extradition and if there are sufficient grounds that apply in extradition, in accordance with international treaties,” the agency said in a response to the publication.

Earlier, last week, the media in Armenia reported that the police in Yerevan detained a Russian citizen accused of desertion in his homeland.
