The head of Rosobrnadzor Anzor Muzaev said that in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, a five-year transitional period for the Unified State Examination is provided. According to him, this will allow graduates to take exams in Russian. They will not be translated into the Ukrainian USE.
In his opinion, five years is enough for students to “calmly without unnecessary stress” be able to master the USE programs. “We have a single and indivisible language is the Russian language, it is a mandatory exam, all other exams, respectively, we also pass in Russian,” said Mr. Muzaev (quoted by TASS).
He added that there are “many bilingual subjects” in Russia, but none of them “passes the unified state exam with translation into the national language.” The head of Rosobrnadzor claims that the study of Ukrainian as a native language will remain optional.
On September 30, Vladimir Putin signed agreements on the inclusion of four regions into Russia. In 2023, pass the exam in these subjects can be optional. In Rosobrnadzor spokethat it is possible to conduct state final certification in the format of the Unified State Examination and the OGE in the regions annexed to Russia only after their transition to Russian educational standards.
