The Progress MS-21 cargo spacecraft, after deorbiting, entered the atmosphere and collapsed. Its unburned elements fell in a non-navigable area of the South Pacific Ocean, Roscosmos reported in Telegram. Its deorbiting was delayed after undocking from the International Space Station (ISS) due to the search for damage that could lead to depressurization.
Progress MS-21 worked on the ISS for three and a half months. It was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on October 26, 2022 by a Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle. The ship delivered more than 2.5 tons of cargo.
February 11 at Progress MS-21 happened depressurization, on the day of the docking of another ship – Progress MS-22. The incident occurred shortly after the contour of the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft was damaged. “Progress MS-21” was undocked from the ISS on February 18, on the same day it was planned to be deorbited. However, the decision postponed to analyze the data of the outer surface of the ship.
