The UN commented on the attack of saboteurs on the Belgorod region

The United Nations (UN) warns against an escalation of the conflict after the penetration of a sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) into the territory of the Belgorod region. This was announced by the representative of the secretary general of the organization Stéphane Dujarric.

“Reports about what is happening in the Belgorod region are of concern… We call on the parties to refrain from escalation, as well as from actions and rhetoric that could lead to increased tension,” declared Dujarric (quote from RIA Novosti).

The DRG entered the territory of the Belgorod region on May 22. After that, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced in the region, which was withdrawn May 21st. This decision was made in connection with the elimination of the security threat. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation connected the attack of Ukrainian saboteurs on the Belgorod region with the defeat of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Artemovsk. As a result, more than 70 saboteurs, four combat armored vehicles and five pickup trucks were destroyed, the ministry said.

On the fact of the attack on the Belgorod region of the RF IC aroused criminal case under six articles: 205, 317, 105, 167, 222 and 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act, encroachment on the life of law enforcement officers, attempted murder, intentional destruction or damage to property, illegal trafficking in weapons and explosives). As a result of the attack by Ukrainian saboteurs on the Grayvoron urban district of the Belgorod region, 13 people were injured. Later the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov informedthat one man from the village of Kozinki died.
