The World Meteorological Organization, a specialized agency of the United Nations, reported that the concentration of the three main greenhouse gases in the atmosphere in 2021 was a record.
According to the WMO report, the concentration of carbon dioxide averaged 415.1 parts per million, methane – 1,908 parts per billion, and nitric oxide – 334.5 parts per billion.
WMO Secretary-General Petteri Taalas has called for action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, saying rising concentrations are causing global warming and climate change.
First of all, Taalas recommended reducing carbon dioxide emissions
