Malyuska: the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate have plans to mobilize those convicted of serious crimes

Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denis Malyuska said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine wanted to mobilize to the front those convicted of serious crimes, including violent ones.

Commenting on plans to mobilize those in prison, he said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have the right to send prisoners for both violent and serious crimes to special operations.

Malyuska noted that initially the military and intelligence were interested in mobilizing those convicted of serious crimes. The GUR considered the use of prisoners in special operations. The minister himself supports such an initiative, since he believes that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have the right to draft anyone they want. But he added that he does not propose the idea as the official position of the department due to possible weak support in the Verkhovna Rada.
