The Ukrainian Dota 2 team withdrew from the World Cup due to the admission of Russian players

Dota 2 support team of Ukraine Ivan Bondarev (Kidaro) announced the team’s refusal to participate in the World Championship due to the decision of the International Computer Sports Federation (IESF) to allow Russian players to compete. Ivan Bondarev’s statement was published by the portal dota2.com.
“We thank for the support of everyone who was sick, but it was not enough against the Kyrgyz, probably, it was necessary yesterday [выпить по пиву]because it was nervous and the first experience in the international arena. But after the news and the fact that this is the final decision to unban Russia, there is no longer a desire to participate in competitions, ”wrote Ivan Bondarev.
The team was given a forfeit loss in the playoff lower bracket match against Indonesia. In the first round of the upper bracket, the team lost to the Kyrgyz team with a score of 0:2.
On August 28, IESF allowed Russian athletes to compete in Romania under their own flag and anthem. The decision to exclude Russian players has been in effect since April 18, 2022. The Russian team does not participate in the tournament.
In early August, the Ukrainian Cybersport Federation (UESF) contributed blacklisted five esportsmen from Ukraine for playing in teams with the Russians. Among them are two players of the Russian Team Spirit team in the Dota 2 game, Ilya Mulyarchuk and Miroslav Kolpakov.
