The Tula region hosts the All-Russian archery competition among athletes with POD

On March 3, on the basis of RUTB “OKA” in Aleksin, the opening ceremony of the All-Russian children’s and youth archery competitions among persons with lesions of the musculoskeletal system (POMA) was held.
The participants were welcomed by the Minister of Sports of the Tula Region Dmitry Yakovlev.
“It is an honor for us to host such a large-scale sporting event. Under the leadership of Governor Alexei Dyumin, a lot is being done in the Tula region to make sports infrastructure accessible to children and adults with disabilities. Such tournaments contribute to the improvement of the skills of the guys, which they will show at the highest level in the future,” said Dmitry Yakovlev.
The competition will run until March 5th. Athletes from 8 regions of the country take part in them.
RUTB OKA is the country’s first specialized training center for Paralympic athletes. Professional and youth teams, national teams of Russia train here.
POD archery is one of the oldest disciplines in the program of the Summer Paralympic Games.
