The Netherlands has completed the integration of its ground forces with those of Germany. A solemn ceremony on this occasion took place at Veitshöchheim Palace, the Dutch Ministry of Defense said.
As part of the ceremony, the 13th Light Brigade of the Dutch Army officially became part of the German 10th Panzer Division. During the event, the banner of the Dutch brigade was symbolically handed over to the German formation.
Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren noted that thanks to cooperation, “our military power is being strengthened.” In general, according to her, integration contributes to the strengthening of NATO and the European Union.
From now on, all three Dutch land brigades are fully integrated into the German land forces. Thus, the 10th Panzer Division of the FRG has about 50,000 servicemen, 8,000 of them are Dutch.
