The trains were involved in the elimination of a fire at the Kursk airfield

Three fire trains began to extinguish the fire that had arisen after the attack on the airfield in the Kursk region. This was reported by the press service of the region.

“The Moscow Railway is helping to put out a fire at the airport. Three fire trains were sent to the place, each with 2 tanks with 120 tons of water and more than 5 tons of foam concentrate, ”- says in the message.

Earlier today, Governor of Kursk Region Roman Starovoit declared about a Ukrainian drone attack on an airfield in the region. He specified that no one was injured as a result of the incident, but the oil storage tank caught fire. Currently, work is underway to localize the fire, all special services are working on the spot, Starovoit added.

The day before, December 5, APU have taken attempts to attack the airfields “Dyagilevo” in the Ryazan region and “Engels” in the Saratov region. According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, long-range aircraft were the target of the enemy. The department said that the drones were shot down by an air defense system, but three soldiers were killed when their debris fell. There was also minor damage to the skin of the hull of two aircraft.

On December 5, the Russian Armed Forces dealt a massive blow to the military command and control system and related facilities of the defense complex, communication centers, energy and military units of Ukraine. As a result of the strike, all 17 designated objects were hit, the Ministry of Defense stressed.

The Russian military has been attacking Ukraine’s critical infrastructure since October 10. Russian President Vladimir Putin previously explained that such a decision was made in response to Ukrainian attempts at terrorist attacks on Russian territory, including an explosion on the Crimean bridge. He emphasized that the reaction to such actions would be tough.

At the same time, since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been regularly shelling the border regions of Russia. On November 20, the “yellow” (high) level of terrorist threat was extended in the Kursk region until December 6. Earlier today Starovoit informedthat this level in the region has been extended for another 15 days.
