The traditional action “Night of Theaters” will be held in Moscow on the night of March 27-28

This year, 67 theaters subordinate to the Moscow Department of Culture, as well as federal and private theaters, school creative associations and theater universities will take part in the 11th annual citywide action “Night of Theaters” this year.

This year, Theater Night is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Ostrovsky.

For young viewers, the action starts on March 27 at 17.00. Exciting events in children’s theaters in Moscow will last until 21.00.

The adult program “Nights of Theaters” will be held from 21.00 on March 27 to 02.00 on March 28. Melpomene fans are waiting for creative meetings, excursions, master classes, performances, concerts, lectures, open rehearsals, performance readings, quests and interactive shows, according to the official website of the Moscow Mayor.

The solemn opening of the action will take place at 20.00 in “Helikon-Opera”. It will be attended by Alexander Kibovsky, head of the Moscow Department of Culture, and artistic directors of the capital’s theaters: Evgeny Marchelli, Anton Yakovlev, Dmitry Astrakhan, Yegor Peregudov, Sergey Gazarov and Marina Brusnikina.

The Mayakovsky Theater on the stage on Sretenka will show the comedy “Wild Woman”, written by Alexander Ostrovsky in collaboration with Nikolai Solovyov. After the performance, there will be a meeting with the director of the performance, Honored Artist of Russia Yuri Ioffe. Start at 19.00. And on the main stage of the theater at 22.00 a creative meeting with its artistic director Yegor Peregudov will begin.

The Theater of Satire will host a creative meeting with artistic director Sergei Gazarov, People’s Artists of Russia Yuri Vasiliev, Alena Yakovleva and other actors. Start at 21.00.

The Mossovet Theater will open an exhibition of theatrical costumes from performances staged based on plays by Alexander Ostrovsky in the capital’s theaters in different years. So, here you can see the costumes of Inna Churikova, Lyudmila Artemyeva and Leonid Bronevoy from Lenkom’s play “The Wise Man”, the costumes of Natalia Seliverstova from the production of the Yermolova Theater “Mad Money”. The Et Cetera Theater will present as exhibits costumes from the performances “A Heart Is Not a Stone” and “An Old Friend is Better than Two New Ones”, the Moscow Operetta Theater will present costumes from the production “Profitable Place”, and the Pyotr Fomenko Workshop Theater will present costumes from the performances “Wolves and Sheep “and” Dowry.

At 23.00, the Pushkin Theater will host an intellectual game-walker “Looking for Ostrovsky”.

And on the new stage of the Moscow Art Theater named after Chekhov at 21.30 there will be a lecture “Ostrovsky in Moscow: journalism, criticism, ideological theory and practice.”
