The first ever launch of Angara-A5 from Vostochny will take place in early April

A source in the rocket and space industry said that from April 6 to April 10 of this year, the first ever launch of the Angara rocket will take place from the newly built launch pad located at the Vostochny cosmodrome.

“According to preliminary information, from April 6 to April 10, 2024, the Angara-A5 launch vehicle will be launched from the Eastern Cosmodrome,” the source noted.

He clarified that, among other things, the Soyuz-2 rocket is expected to be launched from the cosmodrome in May, on board which will be two Ionosphere heliogeophysical situation monitoring devices.

It should be noted that since 2018, infrastructure for launching Angara rockets has been built at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. In November-December last year, tests took place there using an electric refueling prototype called “Angara-NZh”.
