Governor of the Sverdlovsk region Evgeny Kuyvashev launched the third Eurasian Cup in diving, which began in Yekaterinburg. More than 80 athletes from Russia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Cuba, Serbia, Armenia, and Uzbekistan will compete for the title of the strongest.

“Ekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk region have long confirmed their title as one of the strongest sports regions – not only with athletes, but also with the necessary infrastructure,” Evgeny Kuyvashev said at the opening. “I wish all participants in the competition good results, and the spectators to get maximum pleasure from this unique, beautiful sport.”

The competition will take place over three days for men and women. They will compete in individual and synchronized diving from a three-meter springboard and from a ten-meter platform, as well as in team competitions.

Spectators can purchase tickets for free.

MK-Ural previously wrote that On March 14, a chess club of grandmaster Sergei Karyakin was opened in Yekaterinburg. It is organized at a public support site.

During the opening ceremony, Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev made the first symbolic move on the chessboard. Sergey Karyakin held a simultaneous game with five players.
