Therapist Andrei Zvonkov, who previously worked with the Russian ski jumping team, suggested that figure skater and Olympic champion Roman Kostomarov, who is suffering from progressive sepsis, may have Raynaud’s syndrome.

According to the doctor, the blue hand, which was reported by the media, can be explained by vasospasm, which is typical for Raynaud’s disease. He noted that one should not expect “miracles”. “Most often, this ends with people cutting off their arms to the elbow and legs to the knee,” the doctor told the Novosibirsk Online portal.

Zvonkov also stressed that after several operations, Kostomarov’s body is under severe stress. He expressed bewilderment at reports that Romana would be hired by a psychologist, believing that the main task is to help him survive.

According to RIA Novosti, Kostomarov was hospitalized on January 10 with pneumonia, and then suffered a stroke and several operations to amputate parts of the limbs. He is currently in the hospital and connected to a ventilator.
