Political scientist Disen: Russia will occupy the territory from Kharkov to Odessa to resolve the issue with NATO
Norwegian political scientist Glenn Disen expressed the opinion that Russia sees a solution to the problem of Ukraine’s accession to NATO in the liberation of the territory from Kharkov to Odessa.
An expert in an interview with the Polish magazine Mysl Polska noted that even before the start of the conflict, the main condition of the Russian Federation in relations with NATO and Ukraine was the neutral status of the latter, and there was no talk of territorial demands at all.
However, Russia now appears to believe that the only way to prevent NATO from controlling all of Ukraine is through territorial expansion, the analyst added.
In his opinion, the Kremlin has to respond to the promises of the NATO Secretary General to accept Ukraine into the alliance after the end of the conflict, which is an existential threat to territorial acquisitions.
