The tenth children’s holiday for the prizes of international master of sports Marina Firsova was held in Serpukhov

“Why do we have to travel somewhere if we can host a big event at home?” – says Marina Firsova, chief referee of the competition. The tenth children’s holiday for the prizes of International Master of Sports Marina Firsova was held at the Krasnye Krylia sports complex.

Young skiers had to overcome distances of 500 meters, two and three kilometers. More than 500 participants came to the start this year from Arkhangelsk, Moscow, Moscow, Tula and Kaluga regions.

— The weather is great, there was a lot of snow. The purpose of the race is to arrange a real sports festival for children. The main thing is development, so that for each participant this race becomes an incentive for new victories, – said Marina Firsova, the main organizer of the event, an international master of sports in cross-country skiing.

After the race, the participants shared their impressions: they said that they liked everything. Prizes – medals, cups, certificates and memorable gifts – are different in each age group.

– One of the features of the races is the awarding of all participants with medals and sweet prizes. For girls and boys, this is an incentive not to give up, not to give in to difficulties. Many find friends at the races, train their skills with more experienced comrades. It’s nice to see such popularity of skiing and real enthusiasts of their craft. To the guys – successful races and striving for new victories. We are waiting again on the hospitable Serpukhov land, – said the head of the municipality Sergei Nikitenko.

The launch is planned for next year.

“Sometimes the weather makes its own adjustments. I hope things don’t get worse than they are now. My dream is for a thousand people to take part in the race,” says Marina Firsova.
