The team of the Smolensk region brought a medal from the Abilympics championship

The Abilympics National Professional Skills Championship among the Disabled and Persons with Disabilities of the Presidential Platform “Russia is a Land of Opportunities” of the National Project “Education” has ended in Moscow. It was held from 28 to 31 October at the Gostiny Dvor Exhibition Center and at the venues of educational organizations in Moscow.

The events of the business and competitive program of the championship, as well as the closing ceremony, were attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova.

– Abilympics has become an important part of inclusive education. Together with you, we are creating a new system of vocational education. More than 35 thousand people have already gone through the movement. Contestants compete, win, become masters and attract new members. But not only your participation is important for us. The main thing is that you then find yourself. An important indicator is the subsequent employment. The movement has a good indicator – 70% of the participants are employed. But we have not yet reached the maximum, and this is our further task. I want to thank the city of Moscow not only for the organization, but also for the fact that the capital introduces new technologies, innovative solutions and replicates them throughout the country. I want to thank the team of the Moscow Government and personally the Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Semenovich Sobyanin, as well as the team of the Ministry of Education of Russia for the fact that this year the championship was held in person. I congratulate all the winners and participants! I wish you strength of mind and self-confidence! – Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova addressed the participants of the championship.

“More than a thousand contestants competed in the championship,” said First Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Alexander Bugaev. – About three thousand more people took part in the business program. In total, six and a half thousand people were registered for the event. All this speaks of the scale of development of the Abilympics movement, which has existed in our country for only a few years.

The Abilympics National Championship was attended by 1,077 participants from 78 constituent entities of the Russian Federation in 40 core competencies, including 392 schoolchildren, 394 students and 291 specialists. As a result of the championship, 707 contestants were awarded medals.

“We all know that behind this triumph at the championship there are years of hard work, honing skills and competencies,” commented Alexei Agafonov, First Deputy General Director of ANO “Russia – the Land of Opportunities”. – Participants are an example of iron willpower and spirit, a moral guide for many people. Ahead of each of them are great prospects, new opportunities and interesting professional challenges. This year, eight representatives of the new regions of Russia attended the championship as guests – three from the LNR and the DNR, two came from the Zaporozhye region. Soon, regional centers for the development of the Abilympics movement will be created in these territories. And next year we will see participants from these territories on the competition grounds.

2 people from the Smolensk region participated in the Abilympics National Championship. Of these, 1 became the winner, receiving a bronze medal.

– Abilympics helped me find a job. I work successfully as a technical specialist, but I continue to participate in the championship movement. This year, the National Championship in professional terms in my competence “Database Administration” was difficult, it required special training, mentor’s consultations. I acquired new professional competencies and managed to win a bronze medal for the Smolensk region! I am very proud and express my gratitude to the Regional Center for the Development of the Abilympics Movement of the Smolensk Region for their help and support, – emphasized the contestant Andrei Gorchakov.

Larisa Osinova, a participant from the Smolensk region in the Masseur competency, noted that she was not upset that she was not among the top three winners:

– My gap from the championship bronze was only one point! This means that in the future I will make additional efforts, I will train even more and I will be able to enter the top three.

The 2022 Abilympics National Championship was held under the motto “Together – Stronger!”. It symbolizes the unity of society, in which everyone has opportunities for self-realization, regardless of the presence of a disability or health restrictions.

Head of the Abilympics National Center Aleksey Vasilchuk congratulated the winners and thanked everyone who took part in organizing the championship: “I am sure that the past championship will be the first step towards a career for young participants. And the circle of contacts has increased for specialists, in which they will be able to learn from experience and develop their competencies. The work of the participants was evaluated by more than 200 experts, about 700 volunteers helped the contestants and organizers in holding the championship. All of them are also an important part of the movement.”

Within the framework of the Abilympics National Championship, an extensive business program was provided. It was visited by about three thousand people. Among the guests of honor are Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Tatyana Golikova, Advisor to the President of the country Alexandra Levitskaya, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Sergey Kravtsov and his deputies, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Dmitry Afanasyev, Chairman of the All-Russian Society of the Disabled, Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Mikhail Terentyev and others. In total, about six and a half thousand people were registered in the event.

Winners of the National Championship in 40 core competencies receive nominal money certificates. They can be used to purchase technical means of rehabilitation or pay for additional education.

Recall that in September 2022, Abilympics National Championship competitions in 39 additional competencies were held remotely. One contestant from the Smolensk region, Natalya Donskaya, became a winner in them. Thus, in 2022, 2 people received medals from the Abilympics National Championship from the Smolensk Region.
