Flattering news for the Kostroma face No. 34 comes from the All-Russian stage of the Presidential Sports Games, which takes place in the Krasnodar Territory on the basis of the Smena children’s center.
The presidential games, which bring together schoolchildren from all over the country (as well as from the Donetsk and Luhansk republics), include basketball, volleyball, athletics, table tennis, as well as handball, swimming, rugby, sambo, sports tourism and football in their program.
About a thousand junior athletes from all over Russia take part in the games; the right to represent the Kostroma region was given to the team of Lyceum No. 34 of Kostroma, which is trained by Svetlana Maslova.
So far, our Kostroma girls have been performing very successfully – for example, in the track and field all-around (running 60 meters, running long jumps, throwing a small ball, running 600 meters and relay race 100x200x300x400 meters), our girls took 2nd place, and in the relay race ( 100x200x300x400 meters) generally took gold with a score of 2.20.0.
In addition, Veronika Kondratyeva from Kostroma showed the best result in Russia in the 600 meters – 1.39.8.
This year the main prize for the winning team will be a cup from the President of the Russian Federation.
