The VKS used missiles and glide bombs
On the morning of Saturday, September 16, Ukrainian social networks reported explosions in Kharkov, and later an air raid alert was announced in the city. A video also appeared showing the aftermath of the strikes, showing columns of thick smoke.
The Kharkov military-civil administration confirmed four strikes on the regional center. But local residents reported at least five powerful explosions in the vicinity of Kharkov.
It is characteristic that the air defense reacted late. First there were explosions, and only then the air raid alarm sounded. On this basis, the Military Chronicle channel suggested that supersonic ballistic missiles of the Iskander complex or other high-precision high-speed weapons were used to strike military targets.
Military reporter Yevgeny Poddubny suggested that in Kharkov the attack was carried out on the assembly and repair shops of armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Kharkov Tank Plant was the largest manufacturer of tank equipment during Soviet times. Since the beginning of the SVO, there have already been several strikes on the plant’s production sites.
In addition, according to the Military Informant channel, the Russian Aerospace Forces launched a series of air strikes with FAB-250 and FAB-500 gliding bombs on Ukrainian positions in the Berislav area of the Kherson region on the right bank of the Dnieper. In Berislav, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are concentrating troops to cross the Dnieper.
