Let us remind you that the tanker with 19 crew members on board was flying the Russian flag from Kamchatka to Nakhodka. There was no cargo on board. 24 kilometers from the city of Esashi on the island of Hokkaido in the Sea of ​​Okhotsk, he was trapped in drifting ice.

According to him, the Russian rescue tug Bering Strait was able to remove the tanker from the drifting ice trap.

“The tanker Sakhalin Island has been put into clean water. Then it will follow the Ekaterina and Sangarsky straits to its destination at the port of Nakhodka.” The tugboat “Bering Strait” is heading to the port of Korsakov,” Korzhenko said.
