The talks between Putin and Erdogan in Sochi ended

The talks between Russian and Turkish Presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi have ended, informs RIA Novosti agency. It is specified that the meeting in closed mode lasted more than 4 hours.
During the talks, the parties adopted a joint statement on the development of trade and economic ties between Russia and Turkey, Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said. In particular, they outlined the need for full implementation of the Istanbul agreements on the product deal. Peskov clarified that there were no plans to sign any documents, including a memorandum of cooperation, following the meeting.
At the beginning of the meeting, Putin said that the Turkish Stream is one of the most important routes for supplying Russian gas to Europe, and thanked the Turkish side for the uninterrupted operation of the pipeline. In addition, Putin personally thanked Erdogan for his role in reaching agreements on the grain issue, which made it possible to ship grain from previously blocked Ukrainian ports.
Erdogan, in turn, noted the importance of the uninterrupted construction of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant. Also at the beginning of the meeting, he announced his intention to discuss the situation around Syria.
The last time the leaders of the two countries met in Tehran on July 19. Then they discussed the fight against international terrorism and the situation in Syria. Their last meeting in Sochi took place on September 29, 2021.
