The Taliban will create special economic zones from foreign military bases

The administration of the Taliban movement (the organization is banned in the Russian Federation) decided to create special economic zones for business in Afghanistan on the basis of former foreign military bases.
“After careful discussion, it was decided that the Ministry of Industry and Trade should gradually take control of the remaining military bases of foreign forces with the intention of converting them into special economic zones,” Mullah Abdul-Ghani Baradar said in a statement.
He added that a pilot plan to refurbish the bases would begin in Kabul and the northern province of Balkh.
