Following the senators, some regional parliaments adjusted their work schedule. On February 22, the day after the message of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Federal Assembly, meetings of the State Duma and the Federation Council (SF) will be held in order, as previously stated, to adopt amendments to the Budget and Tax Codes. On the same day, plenary sessions of the parliaments of at least eight subjects of the Russian Federation will be held: the Novgorod and Ryazan regional dumas, as well as the dumas of the Stavropol Territory, the state councils of Tatarstan and Udmurtia, the legislative assemblies of the Vologda and Sverdlovsk regions and St. Petersburg.
The appointment of an extraordinary meeting of the Ryazan Regional Duma for February 22 was a surprise for the deputies, an interlocutor in the Legislative Assembly told Vedomosti. Speaker of the regional Duma Arkady Fomin announced this at the plenary session on 17 February. “On the 22nd, we will have the need to once again gather for a plenary session. This is an important issue, the issue of amending the budget. Therefore, I ask you to plan your working time, taking into account the possible meeting of the Ryazan Regional Duma on the 22nd,” the speaker said, addressing the deputies. The agenda has not yet been formed. “We are waiting for further information,” the interlocutor in the regional duma replied. The Ryazan Regional Duma has also been unable to appoint its representative to the Federation Council for several months now to replace Igor Morozov, who resigned on November 16, although according to the law this had to be done within a month.
