Russian taekwondo fighters Vladislav Larin and Maxim Khramtsov were not admitted to the World Championship (WCH) in Baku. Apparently, it is beneficial for someone to eliminate competitors without waiting for the start of the competition, ”commented TASS executive director of the Taekwondo Union of Russia Gennady Zhigulsky.
Larin and Khramtsov are Olympic champions, world champions and two-time European champions. Maxim Khramtsov is the first Russian taekwondo player in history to win Olympic gold.
In April, the World Taekwondo Federation allowed Russian and Belarusian teams to international tournaments under their own auspices. Athletes were allowed to compete in a neutral status. In total, according to Inside the Games, 14 athletes from Russia and nine taekwondo athletes from Belarus were allowed to participate in the World Cup.
