The Liberal Party of Sweden advocates the deployment of NATO bases in the kingdom after the country joins there. This was announced by the head of the party, Johan Person, on the air of Sveriges Radio.
“I think it should be clear that this is a way to strengthen the security of the Swedish people in a situation where the outside world can pose a very serious threat to Sweden,” Person said.
In addition, the head of the Swedish Liberal Party mentioned that Finns and Swedes have been partners since the 1990s.
Person also advocated that the forces of the alliance be on the territory of the country in peacetime.
Recall that Sweden and Finland simultaneously applied for NATO membership back in May last year after the start of the Russian special operation in Ukraine. At the moment, only Helsinki managed to join the military bloc on April 4 this year.
