An air defense system (air defense) went off in the Belgorod region, a drone was shot down on approach to Belgorod, informed Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov in his Telegram channel.
“Our air defense system worked in the Belgorod region – a UAV was shot down on approach to the city. Operational services are clarifying information about the consequences on the ground,” he wrote.
As a result of the destruction of the drone, according to preliminary data from the authorities, no one was injured, there was no damage. Information about the downed UAV confirmed in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
“Today, at about 12.30 Moscow time, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack with an unmanned aerial vehicle on objects in the Russian Federation was thwarted,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Ministry of Defense, on the eve of September 2, air defense knocked down drones over the Belgorod region. Attempts to attack were recorded in the morning, around noon, and also at 15.00 Moscow time. Gladkov specified that when one drone crashed in a private house in the village of Golovchino, the windows were slightly damaged.
A high (“yellow”) level of terrorist threat operates in the region indefinitely. Since October 19, 2022, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the average level of response has been set in the region.
