Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament Laszlo Kever told on the air of the hir.tv channel that Hungarian deputies receive dozens of appeals from the citizens of Sweden and Finland with a request to reject their countries’ applications for joining NATO.
According to Kever, the authorities of Finland and Sweden have deprived the citizens of the countries of “democratic legitimacy” in deciding to join NATO.
“Sweden and Finland forgot to ask people if they really want to join NATO,” the Hungarian speaker said.
Recall that on April 4, Finland became a member of NATO, which doubled Russia’s land border with the foreign alliance.
