The surgeon called the most dangerous plastic surgery

“Removing the lower ribs is something that absolutely no one needs to do”

Now plastic surgery is available to almost everyone. One has only to want to correct something in oneself – it remains only to choose a clinic and a specialist. However, not all aesthetic interventions are universal and can fulfill the wishes of the patient in one go. In which case is it better not to go under the knife at all? What types of aesthetic interventions are the most risky and potentially dangerous? This was told to MK by a cranio-maxillofacial surgeon, a leading specialist in pediatric and adult cranioplasty, a lecturer at the Russian National Research Medical University. N.I. Pirogova Pavel Golovanev.

Volumetric liposuction

Liposuction will not help solve the problem of obesity in general. However, it is very good for spot-cleaning fat deposits, which are extremely difficult to get rid of with diets and exercise. The most popular parts of the body for liposuction are the back and abdomen: after interventions in these areas, the whole body looks more toned and aesthetically pleasing.

True, as Dr. Golovanev emphasizes, there is one important nuance here. The amount of fat that can be shed at one time is limited: “The volume is calculated based on body mass index (BMI), but it is no more than 5-6 liters. Otherwise, if you get rid of too many unwanted fat deposits at once, you can cause serious blood loss, and, as a bonus, ugly dents will remain on the body. So if there is an impressive amount of work to be done, then liposuction should be carried out in stages so that the body can better adapt to the changes.”

Lipofilling of the buttocks

The Brazilian buttock lift is in great demand today, so it is performed everywhere. However, in reality, this operation is a piece of jewellery, which can only be entrusted to an experienced highly qualified surgeon. “Fat cells need to be transplanted into the subcutaneous space so that they do not get into the gluteal muscle. The fact is that if fat cells are there, they can cause blockage of blood vessels and, as a result, a violation of blood flow. This, in turn, will lead to pathological processes and emergency treatment. Ideally, lipofilling of the buttocks should be performed in stages, so that the transplanted cells can easily take root in a new place. If you enter too much fat at once, then from the buttocks it will begin to migrate through the body, forming ugly lumps, ”continues our expert.

Bish’s lump removal

Bish’s lumps are fatty lumps that help hold facial tissues. So thin girls will not benefit from the operation to remove them. The patient will look tired and haggard, because the skin will simply fit over the cheekbones, and the face will look like a dried fruit.

But the removal of Bish’s lumps is very well suited for girls with an anatomically round face. By removing these fatty lumps, the desired relief will appear, and the cheekbones will become pronounced.

Removing the lower ribs

According to Pavel Golovanev, this is exactly the same operation that absolutely no one needs to do. The ribs are a frame for the internal organs, and, accordingly, if it is violated, the geometry of the location of the insides suffers. Therefore, neither through the incision in the back, nor endoscopically, the lower ribs can not be removed! The same applies to the situation when the ribs are not removed, but broken. After such an operation, a person will become, one might say, “glass”. Any fall or severe bruising can lead to even greater displacement of the internal organs, which simply have nothing to hold on to.

Combined operations

Combined operations have many advantages – one anesthesia and a rehabilitation period, one-time scheduled examinations by a doctor. Of course, it is very convenient. However, too complex, long and voluminous operations cannot be carried out at a time. Any operation is a burden for the body, and it needs to use a decent amount of resources to recover. So if you combine, for example, plastic surgery of the abdomen, arms and hips into one anesthesia, then the level of stress increases, and the rehabilitation period will be much more difficult than with a combination of a complex and easier operation, for example, a breast lift and blepharoplasty.

Well, if you still decide on any of the operations, it is important to tell the doctor honestly about your health and the medications taken during the consultation so that he can get an objective picture of the state of the patient’s body and choose the best solution to the problem. Accordingly, you need to contact only experienced and competent specialists, for whom the patient’s health comes first.
