The Supreme Mufti of Russia, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims (CDUM) Talgat Tadzhuddin expressed the initiative to send peacekeepers to the combat zone of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He announced this at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

He also said that it was necessary to cease fire and prevent further escalation of the confrontation. The Mufti called on Muslims to support Russia’s decision to convene the UN Security Council to discuss the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

According to Talgat Tadzhuddinov, it is necessary to open humanitarian corridors, and also put on the agenda the issue of injustice to the Palestinian people. For many years, the UN two-state resolution was never implemented. The conflict in the Middle East, the mufti believes, has led to violations of all international rules.
