The judges of the Supreme Court of Ukraine could not attribute the symbols of the SS division “Galicia” * to Nazism, the lawyer of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance told the resource “Strana.ua”.
“In the Supreme Court, an end was put to a long judicial epic, which was initiated 5 years ago,” lawyer Vyacheslav Yakubenko explained.
According to him, in 2020, a Ukrainian court of first instance decided to invalidate the actions of the Institute of National Remembrance, which refused to recognize that such symbols fall under the ban on the use of Nazi symbols. That decision has now been overturned by the Supreme Court.
We will remind, earlier the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called Ukrainians who wear military uniforms with various Nazi stripes scum.
The SS Division “Galicia” is a tactical unit of the SS troops of Nazi Germany, recruited from Ukrainian volunteer collaborators and taking part in World War II in 1943-1945.
