Saratov edition “Free News” published photographs of all 19 pages of the text of the decision of the judge of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation Oleg Nefedov recognizing the “International LGBT Social Movement” as extremist. The photographs of the Supreme Court decision published by the publication indicate what characteristics unite the “participants of the movement.” Among them, as follows from the document, is the use of feminists in speech. According to the court decision, participants in the “LGBT movement” are united by “the presence of certain morals, customs and traditions (gay pride parades), a similar lifestyle (in particular, the peculiarities of choosing sexual partners), common interests and needs,” as well as specific language: “ The use of potential feminine words, such as leader, director, author, psychologist,” is stated on pages 5 and 6 of the published document.

“As follows from the documents presented by the Russian Ministry of Justice and established by the case materials, since 1984, the international social movement of LGBT (lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgender people), which arose in the United States in the 60s, has been operating on the territory of the Russian Federation,” the document says . It states that the movement promotes the ideology of “destruction of traditional family values.” As noted in the document, despite the fact that the movement has not been registered in any way in Russia, it has spread throughout 60 regions of the country. “281 individuals have been identified who promote LGBT ideology and participate in the activities of the movement,” the document says.

According to Svobodnye Novosti, the Supreme Court decision they published became “part of one of the administrative violation cases.” This document, according to the publication, “was provided to the participants in the process by a representative of law enforcement agencies.” It is unclear what kind of offense we are talking about. On the Supreme Court website indicated only the case number is No. AKPI23-990S, but no documents on it are published there.

The Ministry of Justice filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court to recognize the LGBT movement as extremist on November 17, 2023. The department claimed that the movement’s activities revealed “various signs and manifestations of an extremist orientation, including incitement of social and religious hatred.” The court decision was made on November 30 behind closed doors “due to the presence of secret materials in the case.”
