The Supreme Court approved the refusal of Nadezhdin’s claim on the form of verification of signature sheets

The appeal panel of the Supreme Court upheld the legal refusal of the claim of politician Boris Nadezhdin, who challenged the form of verification of signature sheets for registering candidates for the presidential elections. Court earlier today admitted legal refusal of Mr. Nadezhdin’s claim in the form of a list of collectors.

“The second decision of the court of first instance was also left unchanged. The plan does not change: we will file a supervisory appeal with the Presidium of the Supreme Court,”— commented court decision Boris Nadezhdin.

In the second lawsuit, considered today by the appellate court, Boris Nadezhdin challenged the form in which signatures are recognized as invalid by handwriting experts. However, the form did not indicate the expert’s data and the reason for rejection. Using this form, experts rejected 4,565 signatures submitted in support of Mr. Nadezhdin’s registration.

The Central Election Commission announced Boris Nadezhdin’s refusal to register on February 8. Based on the results of checking 105 thousand signatures that the politician submitted to the CEC, the commission considered 9,147 signatures invalid and 95,587 signatures valid. On February 12, Mr. Nadezhdin filed two lawsuits with the Central Election Commission in the Supreme Court – challenging the form of the inspection sheet and challenging the form of the list of collectors. On February 15, the court rejected both claims.
