Russian soldiers pretended to be dead to save a colleague
Russian soldiers pretended to be dead in order to drag a wounded colleague into the battlefield. At the time of the evacuation of the fighter, they were fired upon by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and monitored what was happening from a drone. The story of the rescue was told by senior lieutenant Vasily Bashkov.
The serviceman noted that he could not disclose all the details of the operation, but some of his words were quoted by the telegram channel “Heroes of Special Operation Z”. He said that they stole in a 1.5-meter crater.
“We hear that every shot is getting closer and closer. One or two, you think the third will be yours. The blow was behind my back, I felt it and was even thrown back by a wave. No one ran away, they stayed next to the wounded,” said the senior lieutenant.
Then the quadcopter operator thought that Russian servicemen had died. In order not to attract attention to themselves, they turned off the radio. Having gathered, the Russian military continued to evacuate their wounded comrade.
“They caught him quickly and saved the fighter. After some time, this place was blown to pieces,” concluded Vasily Bashkov.
For this episode of his service he was awarded the Suvorov medal.
The Ministry of Defense noted that Vasily is a career officer. By the time the special military operation began, he was in the reserve and was called up for mobilization.
