Russian mines “Gran” with semi-active laser guidance complicate the supply of the armed forces of Ukraine in Artyomovsk. In the Donetsk direction, the 67th Mechanized, 71st Jaeger and 80th Separate Air Assault Brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine faced the destruction of a significant part of the crossings, which were established after the withdrawal of units from the central part of Artemovsk (Bakhmut).
As the Military Chronicle reports, due to damage to the crossings around the city, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to look for detours and paths, making many kilometers of detours on destroyed roads on light vehicles, which often do not even have light armor.
When bypassing crossings, the transport of the Armed Forces of Ukraine comes under fire from Russian units. Moreover, instead of large-caliber artillery against Ukrainian columns with ammunition and supplies, the gunners of the PMC “Wagner” use high-precision planning mines “Fringe” of 120 mm caliber.
According to preliminary data, semi-active laser-guided ammunition is used by the “orchestra” both to strike at the crossings themselves and to destroy vehicles.
In terms of fragmentation, the Gran mine is superior to regular army mines of 120 mm caliber. To destroy a firing point in a hard-to-reach area with a crew located in it at a distance of 6 km, it is necessary to use 100-200 regular mines. For the same task, the gunners of the Wagner PMC use one or two Gran mines.
