Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations, said that a number of UN Security Council members expect Germany, Sweden and Denmark to promptly investigate the Nord Stream incident.
He clarified that such a decision was a positive outcome of the vote on the Russian resolution, which took place the day before. Let us recall that the UN Security Council did not adopt a draft resolution calling for the creation of an international commission under the auspices of the UN.
“During the voting, many members of the UN Security Council expressed their position. They made it clear that they were in favor of an expeditious investigation. Among other things, there is also pressure from that part of the Council that abstained. They also stand for the speed of the investigation and the clarification of most of the details,” Polyansky said.
According to him, this result of the last voting is positive.
