The strongest climbers of the Murmansk region competed at Abram-Mys in Murmansk

As part of the 88th Northern Holiday in Murmansk, the Mountaineering Championship of the Murmansk Region was held. The best climbers competed in overcoming the ice terrain.
On Monday, March 6, the press service of the government of the Murmansk region reported on the mountaineering championship of the Arctic, which took place on the rocky massif of Abram-Mys in Murmansk as part of the 88th Polar Olympics.
Thus, 25 athletes from all over the region competed in overcoming the ice relief in the disciplines “ice-climbing-difficulty” and “ice-climbing-speed”. In the first of them, climbers had to climb as high as possible along the established route in the allotted time, and in the second, they had to overcome heavy ice meters as quickly as possible.
At the opening ceremony, the Minister of Sports of the Murmansk Region Svetlana Naumova addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. She wished the athletes high achievements and conquering the most difficult peaks.
