In Russia, there is no readiness to launch unmanned vehicles yet, neither from a technical, nor from an infrastructural, nor from a legislative point of view. This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Road Safety (GUOBDD) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation Oleg Ponaryin.

“So far, neither technically, nor infrastructurally, nor legislatively, we have come to the point where we can completely drive a car of such a high class of automation without a driver,” he said (quote according to TASS).

According to Ponaryin, today there are only a few completely unmanned vehicles, so in the context of Russia it is better to talk about “highly automated vehicles.”
