The increase in the number of tourists from unfriendly countries against the backdrop of Russophobic sentiments that are openly demonstrated in their media seems strange, says State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa.
In a conversation with Lenta.ru, Chepa said that we need to take a closer look at who comes to Russia and for what purposes.
According to the deputy, the question of why the number of citizens of Poland, the Baltic States and Finland entering Russia has increased “should be asked by the FSB.” According to him, “now you need to be extremely careful.” Especially given the regular reports that “there are comrades who contribute to the penetration of all kinds of sabotage groups into the border areas.”
Chepa noted that it is necessary to control the presence of suspicious citizens in the country, as well as to monitor who and why enters us.
The politician said that “with the frenzied Russophobia that we see, including in the media of unfriendly countries,” it is unlikely that “the number of tourists” from these states is becoming more.
Earlier, the FSB border service said that in the first quarter of 2023, the number of foreign tourists who entered Russia increased by 17.6% compared to the same period last year, and most of all residents of Finland, Poland and the Baltic countries entered the country.
