According to article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation on the rehabilitation of Nazism, desecration of symbols of military glory, committed by a group of persons by prior agreement or on the Internet, is punishable by a fine of 2 to 5 million rubles. or imprisonment for up to five years.

The State Duma noted that the use of the St. George ribbon, including its image, is allowed by citizens, public associations, enterprises, institutions and organizations, based on the need to provide it with the status of a symbol of Russia’s military glory.
